Long before it became a hotel, Finca El Cerrillo was a working Andalusian farmhouse and olive mill. Olives were still being pressed here until the mid-1960s, and the building has been carefully restored so that the character of its past remains part of everyday life.
The original beamed Mill Lounge still carries reminders of the old mill, although these days its purpose is rather more relaxed: deep sofas, conversation and a log fire when the evenings turn cooler.
The finca has evolved, but it has never stopped being a place where people gather. Today there might be walking boots by the door, easels in the studio, yoga on the deck, books borrowed from the library and dinner being laid on the terrace as the light begins to fade.
